How Our Ratings Are Calculated

Discover the method and reasoning behind how our ratings and developed and maintained, from what is considered during the ranking to the scale used.

When you're comparing cryptocurrency company ratings on our site, you may be curious to know what exactly goes into our ratings.

We currently use several specific variables, but plan on expanding our data in the future to incorporate more customer concerns. What are these variables, and why do they matter? Read on for a brief rundown of everything that factors into our ratings!

Variables Used in Our Ratings

At the moment, our ratings incorporate the following:

  • Best savings rates

  • Lowest trading fees

  • Most loan accounts

  • Most savings accounts

  • Popularity (based on clicks in a given week)

  • Number of supported coins

These are all factored into our ratings for these given companies. The goal is to find the factors that will give you the best value for your money while making it easy to understand.

Our overall rating can be displayed a few ways from this average. It can be shown as a percentage (e.g., "We gave this company a 78% satisfaction rating"), a 10 point scale (e.g., "We rated this company 8/10"), or with a 5-star system (e.g., "We gave Nexo 4 out of 5 stars").

New Variables

Soon we will be adding new variables to our ratings as well. These include the following:

  • Best loan rates

  • Best loan LTV (Loan To Value)

  • Lowest withdrawal fees

These are similar to our current variables, so you shouldn't worry about our rating system changing drastically! This just allows us to further dial in on the best companies while getting you the most value for your money.

We also plan on someday adding "most commented" as a means of gauging interest. This will go alongside these other new variables to help us continue improving and fine-tuning our ratings.

New Summaries

You should also keep an eye out for our new summarized tables. We will break down our platforms by category, showing the best for each slot with a link to their website. For example, we may have a table that looks something like this:

  • Best overall: Site 1

  • Most popular this week: Site 2

  • Best rate of crypto: Site 3

  • Best rate of stablecoins: Site 4

  • Most supported coins: Site 5

  • Lowest fees: Site 5

As you can see, some online trading websites may top multiple categories at a particular time, even if they aren't considered "best overall." This will allow you to look at the categories that matter to you, and figure out which websites suit your needs.

Currently, you can also read news about specific currencies on our blog. Besides the ratings, we keep you up to date on what's happening in the world of electronic currencies, and how they can affect these businesses and your investments.

More to Come!
